Blonding & color
What is the difference between balayage, foilayage, and babylights?
Balayage is hand-painted color that processes in the open air for a soft, natural result. Foilayage uses the same painted placement but wraps it in foil for a brighter lift. Babylights are very fine foil highlights for an all-over soft blonde. Most of our lived-in blonde sessions combine two of these.
What is lived-in blonde?
Blonde designed to grow out gracefully. A blended or shadowed root, brightness through the lengths, and a custom toner, so there is no harsh line after six weeks and you can go three to four months between color appointments.
Can you take me from dark brown to blonde in one appointment?
Sometimes, but usually not in one visit if we want to keep your hair healthy. We will be honest in the consultation about what one session can achieve and plan the path, often starting with a bronde or warmer blonde that gets lighter over two or three visits.
Do you fix brassy, orange, or uneven blonde?
Yes. Color correction is one of Sara's specialties. Text us photos of your hair in natural light and a quick history of what has been done to it, and we will recommend a plan before you book.
Will lightening damage my hair?
All lightening affects hair, which is why we use bond-building treatments during every blonding service, never over-process in a single session, and recommend at-home care that keeps the hair strong between visits. Healthy blonde is the whole point.
Booking & your visit
What services do you specialize in?
Blonde. Lived-in blonde, balayage, foilayage, babylights, bright highlights, bronde, and blonde color correction, plus the cuts, toners, and treatments that go with them. If you are looking for a kids' cut, a perm, or a quick men's cut, we are not the right salon and are happy to point you elsewhere.
How long does a blonding appointment take?
Plan on three to four hours for balayage, foilayage, or a full highlight, and two to three hours for a partial. Color correction varies and is estimated after a consultation.
Do I need a consultation before booking?
For most blonding services, no. Book online and add a note about your goals. For color correction or a big change from dark to light, text us photos first so we can book the right amount of time.
How do I book?
Each stylist has her own online booking page, linked from our Book page. If you are not sure who to book with, text us and we will match you with the right stylist for your hair.
Where are you located and is there parking?
1412 N Main St in downtown Meridian, Idaho, with easy parking. We are open Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, and closed Sunday.
Can I bring my kids or a friend?
Our space is intentionally small and quiet, so we ask that guests come on their own. Children are welcome only if they are scheduled for a service.
Maintenance & at-home care
How often should I come in for lived-in blonde?
Every 12 to 16 weeks for color, with an optional toner or gloss in between to keep it bright. Bright, high-contrast blonde is closer to every 8 to 12 weeks.
How do I keep my blonde from getting brassy at home?
Use a purple or blue toning shampoo about once a week, wash in cooler water, protect your hair from heat with a thermal protectant, and consider a shower filter if you have hard water. A toner between appointments resets everything.
What should I do before my appointment?
Arrive with clean, dry hair, wear something you do not mind a drop of color on, and bring a photo or two of what you love. If you have had color at home or at another salon in the last year, let us know.
